ashley abramsCongratulations to Fifth Grade Teacher Ashley Abrams who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the 2019 Region 4 Outstanding Elementary New Teacher and one of five finalists for this year's Outstanding Elementary New Teacher Award!

Walking into her fifth grade classroom, it is evident that engagement is crucial to Ms. Abrams' daily instruction. She partners with her students in the learning process and understands that teaching goes beyond well-crafted lessons and extends to crafted moments with everyone in her class. Ms. Abrams seizes every second of the day, finding spare time to reteach key concepts, provide individual support, or cheer someone up. To demonstrate that they are valued inside and outside of the classroom, she attends music performances and sporting events to strengthen her relationships. Ms. Abrams sees her job as a grand adventure for which she has planned and prepared and shows she is more than ready to take on the challenges of each new day.

Congratulations also to the other Union Mill Elementary School staff members recognized at FCPS Honors!
