Technology

Technology is used by all students at Union Mill Elementary and integrated throughout the curriculum at each grade level. Students engage in activities that promote 21st-century skills which they will utilize both in and outside of their school life.

Did you know all students in FCPS are eligible to download a free version of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus on home computers? Did you know that low-cost internet is available to families in the free lunch program through Cox and Comcast? Are you looking for places in your community that provide free internet access?
Visit FCPS Technology@Home for all the details.

Fairfax County Public Schools provides families with maps of the community Internet access sites in our neighborhood. These sites are open to the community at various times and provide you and your student(s) access to the internet and FCPS resources. Please click the link below for more information on these sites.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Union Mill, under the direction of FCPS, has been participating in the Bring Your Own Device, BYOD, program. This program enables our students to bring in their own personally owned computing and network devices to school. Devices include laptops, netbooks, and tablets. Participation in BYOD is strictly optional and at the discretion of each family.
